ABC, EASY AS 123, DONT YA KNOW ROXY TAGGED ME!

My Blogging Buddy Roxy tagged me today. I found out quite a bit about her by reading her version so I thought I'd jump in and fill out the questions also. I have told everyone, just about everything there is to know about me but maybe this will be fun for the boys to read one of these days when I'm old and gray. Who knows what I'll remember then...maybe not this stuff. LOL

So...Here are the ABC's of The Mom With Brownies.

A. Attached or single? Happy to be married to my best friend, Brian.

B. Best friend? I just said Brian is my best friend. Were you not listening? He is, No joke. :o)

C. Cake or pie? Oh my, well Chocolate cake with chocolate icing would be the best though I do enjoy a good pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Now, if there is Ice Cream Involved I will have to say anything hot with Vanilla Ice Cream melting over it...even though I'm lactose intolerant...Then again, I do enjoy a good Hershey Bar with Almonds. If that is involved then I would say Pie if it were hidden in a pie or cake if it were hidden in a cake. However, if the cake were made inside of the pie I would eat that too. hmmm.... What was the question?

D. Essential item? Maalox..I drink it from the container and carry it in my purse...no joke.

E. Day of choice? I enjoy Fridays. I am relaxed all day because it is our lazy day of homeschool. We watch movies or fiddle around with whatever the kids want to do. It is the beginning of the weekend and the day Brian takes off work if we plan a family long-weekend-vacation.

F. Favorite color? I like Red. Red is a pretty awesome color. I like Black if my husband is wearing it. I like dark brown if I'm eating brownies. I like Cherry if we're talking wood though I like Cherry if we are talking Coke also. But I digress...

G. Gummy bears or worms? I have a confession to make. I do not like any candy that is "gummy" If you hand me a bear or a worm, all I feel is grime and grit and clumpy stuff in my teeth. I don't understand the appeal of the gummy worm or the gummy bear. I do not like licorice either. I do not like gummy bears or worms, I do not like them Sam I am! I have eaten them in a boat, and like them I don't.

H. Hometown? Ah my goodness what a saga. I was born in Michigan. I moved to Ohio when I was 2 years old. I lived in a tiny little town called Franklin Furnace until I was 13 years old. Two weeks into my 9th grade school year we moved to a tiny town in Northern Kentucky called Vanceburg. I lived there for 4 years and I moved out of the house the month after I turned eighteen. I lived in Ohio and Michigan for 1 year then met my Brian, married him 11 months later, had our first little boy 2 years later, and now live in the state of my birth...where FINALLY I feel like I am home. ahhh....Now to get my parents, brother and niece here! :o)

I. Favorite indulgence? Staying up until the wee hours of the morning. You thought it would be brownies huh? Tee hee... I love the time of night when our little sons are fast asleep and our older sons are up and about. That is the time when the house is quiet. Sometimes the older kids will come upstairs with me and watch what I'm watching...COPS or Some Mystery/Murder cop show. We spend that time talking and chatting and laughing or ooohing and aaahing over the show. It's our bonding time. I love that.

J. January or July? Well, now that's a pickle. July is our first born sons birthday month and June is our second born son's birthday month. Both are fun months in our household. For instance this January we will be going to an indoor water park/family retreat to celebrate Brisan's 12th birthday weekend and this July we may very well be heading down to spelunk some caves in Kentucky to celebrate Kazz's 17th birthday. Soo...I think it is fair to say that I love any month that I can enjoy my family. I love the changing of seasons and I very much enjoy our summers and winters. They are all fun. So, boring I am.

K. Kids? Now honestly, does this even need a response. We have our Kazz, our Brisan, Our Vinze, our Daxx and our Kole. We hope to have the pitter-patter of little pink or tomboy blue feet here next year. We'll see!

L. Life isn’t complete without? Faith

M. Marriage date? June 30, 1990 Brian and I will hit our 20 year anniversary in 2010. That is crazy. I'll be 40, he'll be 38. Wow, that's just crazy.

N. Number of magazine subscriptions? None...nada...zero...zilch...I have the Internet. Who needs to clutter the world with more paper?

O. Oranges or apples? Here's a little tidbit that not many people know. I am allergic to apples. Yes, my friends, it is possible and I am living proof. I cannot eat apples. If I eat them the entire inside of my mouth swells up. My throat feels as if it will swell shut and I am terrified that I will be unable to breathe. I will take an orange, thanks.

P. Phobias? Apples...oh and the Ocean. Yes, I am afraid of the Ocean, so sue me! I found this out when we vacationed in the Florida Keys. We were trying to drive down to Key West when I had a panic attack. I saw one road and nothing but water on either side of our vehicle. I freaked out. We had to turn around and go back to "land." So I thought it was just a moment of weakness. The next day we went out deep sea fishing. When we drove from the blue water, to the green water and then to the black deep, deep water...I about lost my marbles. I couldn't see land and that was it for me. Sooo....I stuck to snorkeling right off the beach. I'm good with "right near the beach." I'll take my land please.Listen, this is how bad it is...I slept all the way to Hawaii and all the way home on the flights for fear of seeing nothing but water beneath the plane. Who knew the daughter of a Navy man would end up afraid of the ocean?! Huh? Dad, now I know why your favorite song in Vietnam was "Put your hand in the hand of the man from Galilee." I couldn't find Sandy Posey but Ocean will do I suppose.

Q. Quotes? "To thine own self be true and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst then be false to any man." & "Dust if you must but I believe that a house becomes a home when you can write I Love You on the furniture."

R. Reasons to smile? Waking up as opposed to the alternative. I almost lost my life 5 year ago. My heart should have stopped, but God had other plans. Life makes me smile. The kids fill it with laughter and Brian fills it with overwhelming, precious love. I'm good, thanks.

S. Season of choice? I think I covered that in "J"

T. Tag 5 people. Oh boy, here we go...
I want to know more about
, Stacy because she is a mystery,
Jenn because she needs something to do. Her life is so boring and uneventful these days.
I need to tag
Annie because I miss her
and Heather P because she will hate the fact that I tagged her
and
Heather W. because she's slacking on the blogging lately. :o)

U. Unknown fact about me? Well, I already told you about the Apple Allergy. Hmmm.... I have B negative blood? Is that rare enough to be an "unknown fact" worthy of print? I don't know. I'm an open book, what can I say? Oh wait! I have a weird eating thing. I can't eat apples. I can't eat raw vegetable or I will have severe cramping and throw ALL OF IT back up. I can't digest raw veggies. Isn't that sad! I can't have too much dairy or I'm crampy and in the bathroom a lot...hmmm... I can't eat shell fish because I get nauseated and dizzy. Hmmm...Oh if my veggies are cooked really well I can eat them! LOL Isn't that weird? If I eat dairy or spaghetti before bed I have a very good chance of waking up in the morning with severe pain to the extent that I've gone to the hospital thinking that I'm having a heart attack. Hmmm... I guess the short version would be that I have food issues. So I eat crap to "feel" healthy. LOL

V. Vegetable? I like peas. I really, really like peas. If it is cooked beyond recognition I really like broccoli too...and Kale and Spinach and OH and I like brussel sprouts. mmm.... I think I'm hungry.

W. Worst habit? Oh good gravy...My worst habit? Well, I interrupt people when they are speaking and I bite my nails. I interrupt because I have a terrible memory and won't remember the point to make so that I can make sure they know I was listening. Vicious cycle that is...

X. X-ray or ultrasound? I don't understand? I've had both. I think they are mega-cool especially this x-ray and this ultrasound.

Y. Your favorite foods? Boiled Dinner (Picnic ham boiled all day in cabbage, potatoes, carrots, onion, salt, pepper) over home-made bread. Oh mommy...that is sooo good.

Z. Zodiac sign? Taurus

Well that's all folks!

1 WHAT'S YOUR TWO CENTS?:

I, too, have an apple allergy. Mine, however, is mild and mostly shows up when I'm pregnant. If I stay away from apples/apple juice, I am mostly sickness free, but put a teaspoon of apple juice concentrate in a smoothie and I'm bending my head over the toilet. I am glad I don't have your severity.
